Chandra darshan or moon sighting is a fortunate occasion in the Hindu religion, it happens once per month. Every month, it can be noticed when the moon is visible for the first time after the new moon day. The most favorable time for Chandra darshan falls right after the sunset.

Hindus worship Lord Chandra or moon god on this day, each devotee keeps a fast and offers special prayers to get the lord’s blessings. It is also believed that looking at the moon on this day is fortunate as it will bring you prosperity and guide4 you towards happiness.

Rituals that you should perform

There are various rituals that you can perform on this auspicious day and get the blessings of Chandra dev on you and your family.

·         Keeping a fast will surely impress moon good; you should not eat anything throughout the day to show your devotion. You should end your fast when the moon is visible and you have prayed to the lord.

·         Donating food and clothes is also considered auspicious. You should donate, rice, sugar, and clothes to Brahmins on this day.

·         13th April between 6:50 and 7:55 PM.

·         13th May between 7:06 and 8:31 PM.

·         11th June between 7:21 and 8:14 PM.

·         11th July between 7:24 and 8:38 PM.

·         9th August between 7:09 and 7:58 PM.  

·         8th September between 6:39 and 7:44 PM.

·         7th October between 6:07 and 6:52 PM.

·         6th November between 5:41 and 6:54 PM.

·         5th December between 5:33 and 6:30 PM.
